So we have been a little lacking on the Blog side of things for quite a while now, mainly because we have been so busy but we understand how important it is to keep existing and potential new customers up to date so updating the blog monthly is going to be a priority for us on-going!

Rebranding

For just over 10 years we have been known as H & M Carpentry and as with any business, the industry has seen many changes, over the last few years we have noticed a growing demand for the ‘complete package’ to include the construction needs as well as the carpentry.

This has led us to rebranding ourselves as ‘HM Construction’, we have a new logo, we are in the process of working on a new website and as well as our existing team of carpenters, we now also have a great team of qualified bricklayers meaning we can offer a much better service to those customers looking to keep all building requirements with one local, experienced company.

Over the next few months the new website will start to go live and this will feature case studies of completed and on-going jobs that have been and will be undertaken by HM Construction along with reviews from our happy customers!

If anything, this change will improve the service our customers recieve from us as we have a highly experienced management team, skilled tradesmen who each have thier own niche set of skills that they excel in meaning this is a really exciting time of growth for all involved!

Federation Of Master Builders

Marketing is a key part of any business, but it is very easy to get drawn into the endless advertising campaigns that run but have no relevance to the customer base you need! We have found that word of mouth and current / previous customer referrals have been the key for us.

For the last few months we have been researching a scheme called the FMB (Federation of Master Builders) and after lots of emails back and forward and asking opinions of people we know, we decided to go ahead and apply to become members.

The process started with a company history check which we passed with flying colours, the directors were vetted and our insurance certificates inspected and then we were on to the next stage where they arranged for an independent company to visit us on site and carry out a thorough review from talking to the guys on site, looking at plans and then reporting back to the FMB.

We are extremely proud to say that we passed all the checks and we are now officially members and have been awarded the ‘TrustMark’ which is a Logo that will be appearing on our vans soon! (For more information on the FMB the website is www.fmb.org.uk)

Social Media

One of the great things about the construction industry is that we have new challenges daily and sometimes use new products, methods and tools. We try our best to take photos / videos where ever possible, firstly so we can look back and learn from them to improve but also so our customers have lasting memories of the beautiful projects we complete.

One way of us documenting this is via social media so we are extremely active on Facebook and Instagram with lots of product reviews, updates and even the odd picture of Max the office dog! (Who doesn’t like a dog pic!)

We often have competitions / offers running so make sure you follow us to keep up to date!

As I said at the start of this post, we will be keeping the blog up to date on a monthly basis and each month I will pick a new product / build type / tool to review to hopefully keep you all up to date with the ever changing construction industry!

Have a lovely Halloween and Bonfire night!
